Today our son was born...

From the fullness of grace we have received one blessing after another.
John 1:16

On Monday, April 29th, Mike and I received a precious second blessing - our son. He was eager to enter the world and came to us quickly. At 7 lbs, 4 oz, and 20 inches long, with dark hair and gentle eyes, we immediately fell in love.

4:00 a.m. Monday April 29. Our planned induction time - baby boy had other plans...

9:45 p.m. (Sunday, April 28) I had been having contractions off and on for the past 5 days/nights, these however were getting more intense and closer together, although still irregular...I decided to contact my friend and L&D nurse, and she advised us to start timing and monitoring the contractions even if they were irregular. We followed her directions and ultimately decided to head to the hospital - she agreed! Mike got a shower, packed up the car and we headed out!

11:24 p.m. (Sunday, April 28) Arrive at hospital. We are asked if we can wait till midnight to check in since our paperwork is in the system for April 29...seriously? Not a minute later the nurse starts new paperwork and admits us.

12:45 a.m. Settled in our room, Mike heads to the car to grab our bags, I get hooked up to monitors, IV.

1:35 a.m. Epidural. For the first time in a while I feel relaxed and calm. Sleep is good.

4:35 a.m. Pitocin is started. I am already 4 cm dialated, 80% effaced.

6:45 a.m. Dr. Reidy arrives, breaks my water. 6cm dialated, 90% effaced. She will be back soon!

7:28 a.m. 8cm

8:15 a.m. 9.5-10cm almost baby time - four contractions w/pushing later...

8:43 a.m. Lucas Owen Pillsbury is born! Our family has grown, and our hearts have welcomed another child to love. Sweet baby Luke is a perfect little miracle - we thank our God for this blessing of a healthy baby boy and healthy mommy.

We prayed for this child and the Lord has granted us what we asked of him.

A Sprinkle

A big THANK YOU to my sis and girlfriends for the Sprinkle baby shower they had in my honor. Baby boy received many sweet gifts and I loved them all! Spent a fabulous afternoon visiting, eating, and enjoying time with friends. The food was delicious - pimento cheese & cucumber sandwiches, chicken salad bites, lemon rosemary humus, fresh fruit and an Italian Creme Cake - plus ginger ale lime punch, chocolate covered pretzels and some sweet iced tea!

Original artwork for the baby's room from Carla!

Easter Baskets

Every Easter morning that I can remember...we always awoke to see our baskets all wrapped up and waiting for us! Hannah's Easter morning was no different (well we were at the beach) - and this year she was pretty excited!

Hannah is loved by so many that she had a few more rounds of opening baskets! Opening her Easter surprises from my parents, Nana & Papa...

From my in-laws, Granddad & Grandma Pillsbury...

From Aunt Carla & Uncle Daniel...

And some other treats from our friends, The Lawrence Family, in FL...

Such a lucky little girl! Happy Easter everyone! Thanks so much for all of our special treats!

Easter Beach

The scent of the WATER,
The sound of the SEA,
Make me ever so HAPPY,
Just to be ME!
-Anonymous

We were so blessed this Easter with a family trip to the beach! Our last trip before welcoming our baby boy proved to be relaxing, enjoyable and quite memorable! With beautiful sunny weather we definitely enjoyed our time outside - beach, crawfish/oyster bake, Easter egg hunt, pool, more beach and simply enjoying the sunset with good friends on their dock!

Easter Sunday was extra special too - waking up to beautiful weather, mass with friends, brunch on the water and a stay at a fabulous beach hotel! Who could ask for anything more? Easter at the beach is a tradition I can get used too!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Our hotel was beautiful - we would recommend it to anyone traveling to Pensacola Beach, FL. Gorgeous inside and out, with an amazing pool deck over-looking the private beach! Hannah and I dined on "cheeseburgers in paradise" for dinner (Mike opted for wings) and we soaked in the sun for the next couple of days! Cheers! and Thank You! to all who made our trip so wonderful...I think you know who you are! Love you!
