Summer Road Trip: Part 1

Our summer of road trips started out with us loading up my Dad's truck, (Thanks Dad!) and heading out to Alabama for our first stop. We spent time soaking up the summer sun with family & friends! Kids got to see Grandma and Granddad Pillsbury, the Town Family, and Carla, Daniel & Olivia...pool time, water balloon mayhem, and more shenanigans on the golf course with our Supper Club friends. Good start to our summer road trip: Pensacola here we come!

Six Flags Fiesta TX

Free day passes to Sig Flags? Awesome! Thank you Scott, Lisa and Jason, happy to join you and spend the day at the park! Lukey stayed at home for this one, but the big kids were ready for fun! We rode the kid size swings, fired lasers at aliens and ghosts in Scooby Doo haunted mansion, train, bumper cars, and rode the Gully Washer for a refreshing water bath...lunch at Johnny Rockets, and the highlight of the day, the indoor Vinyl Countdown show with live bands and dancers performing pop songs throughout the decades, SO AWESOME (and air conditioned).

No roller coasters for us this time, but we sure did have a good time without them! Love spending cousin time together! See you all again soon!

Father's Day

Hot sunshine, long lines, cold drinks and a BBQ pilgrimage, this time to La Barbeque, is how we celebrated Father's Day 2016. Did I mention it was hot? Kids and I tried to stay in shade, while Mike held our place in line. I found an open food truck that had cups of ice and gelato, and Mike found the "free beer while you wait in line" keg, we were all trying to stay cool and have patience. Gelato for breakfast helps! As for the food? Thumbs up from the BBQ experts, worth the wait!

Seeking air condition, we continued our day with tickets to see Finding Dory at the IMAX theater in 3-D, located in the Bullock Museum (Texas History Museum). We will definitely be back to the museum on another trip, today was all about popcorn and black glasses!

Before leaving downtown Austin, we hit another place on our list to visit, Easy Tiger, a bakery and bar known for delicious pretzels and good brews, in a very funky and old cellar, that also has a cool patio (no more outside meals for us today) where we sampled one of those gigantic pretzels, yum!

*We knew ahead of time about our day, so our gifts to daddy were appropriately themed, a new Yeti and daddy's favorite beers (La BBQ is BYOB, as it is in a food truck park with picnic tables), oh and some new stainless steel skewers for when Mike grills for us at home! We love you! Happy Father's Day!

Bodhi's 3rd Birthday

Happy Birthday to Bodhi! Or "Bodes" as Luke likes to say...best buddies, and double trouble! Had a great afternoon jumping and bouncing, eating cake and pizza, and THEN heading to the after party at the Park house. Awesome party day, thanks friends, love y'all!

Best big sisters, Hannah and Lili!

Nap and rally...holding tight to his party favor bag!

Our little crew at the end of the night, how is no one tired???
