1 Month Old Luke!

Someone told me that time goes by even faster with a second child - they were right! A month has come and gone so quickly! Luke is growing and growing, easily surpassing his big sister's stats at this age! He continues to be a good eater, pretty good sleeper (still working on him putting himself to sleep), takes a pacifier sometimes (Hannah never did), coos & grunts, follows toys & sounds with his eyes & head, has tremendous strength in his neck and can pick up his head & turn it from side to side while on his belly. Luke does not love his bath, gets fussy when he has to burp & when he is gassy, and doesn't like diaper changes or clothing changes! However, he does like his car seat, sleeping on his side or tummy, the sound of the vacuum & shower, being talked or sung to, and being held or carried! Luke LOVES his big sister - he absolutely listens to her voice and likes to be near her, no matter how loud she becomes - melts my heart!

9 Years

Mike & I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this year - oh how the time goes by...almost 15 years together, two beautiful & healthy children later, we are more than blessed. Life definitely has had its up & downs - but nothing we can't get through together! Love you baby.

Hannah's Splish Splash Birthday Bash!

Celebrating Hannah's 3rd Birthday Bash was bittersweet...I cannot believe how grown up my little baby girl is - but I am so proud of the little girl & big sister she is becoming! Luckily we had a break in our rainy weather and were able to enjoy an afternoon of splashing, swimming and playing on the NEW swing set! Hannah had fun playing with her friends outside, while baby Luke slept inside (thks C & D for being on baby watch) - a great setup. I was sooo happy to be able to have a small party for her - thanks to my parents for all of their help and for the amazing gift (swing set). I couldn't have done it without them! Thanks to Mike for all of his help setting up the party and most importantly cleaning up afterwards! The party was a great success and I know our little girl loved it - a very happy 3rd birthday party!

THREE years old today...oh how the time flies by! Proud big sister, potty trained, chatterbox, creative, athletic, loves to dance & sing, imaginative, has an amazing memory are just a few of the many ways I would describe our beautiful daughter! Hannah is independent and wants to do most everything on her own...she dresses herself well & loves to pick out clothes and accessories! She is a great helper - and loves to clean (sweep & dust), organize, & help her mommy with most household tasks - she is an amazing helper with her baby brother too! Sooo much personality all wrapped up into one lovable daughter!

Favorite books: A to Z princesses, Fancy Nancy, 5 Minute Princess Stories...to name a few! Loves to read!
Favorite movies: Cinderella II, Mulan, Belle (Beauty & the Beast)
Favorite TV shows: Sophia the First, Doc McStuffins, Dora the Explorer, Little Einsteins
Favorite activities inside: dress up (princess dresses & shoes), cooking in her kitchen or with mommy, playing with her baby dolls, coloring & painting (loves arts & crafts)
Favorite activities outside: running, skipping, riding her tricycle, sidewalk chalk, painting, playing ball, going to the pool, playing on her new swing set and pretty much anything else outside!
Favorite foods: cheese pizza, hamburgers, steak, noodles, applesauce, anything daddy grills, goldfish, cheese, tortillas, avocado, scrambled eggs, bacon, french fries & cookies - loves milk too!
Favorite places: Target (w/mommy), Lowe's (w/daddy), Carla & Daniel's house, park & pool (talks about the Beach all the time too!), dance class, library story time, and all of mommy's Dr. appointments!

Birthday Delivery!

Hannah received an amazing birthday gift this year from her Nana & Papa...a new swing set! She was SUPER excited when the huge delivery truck pulled up and immediately started making plans to swing that evening on her swings...needless to say she had to wait a little bit longer! It took Mike, my dad & a little help on the last day by Daniel, about three days (one full day, two evenings) to complete the project! I think it turned out great - good work boys! Thanks so much mom & dad for such a generous gift - Hannah absolutely loves it & I know it will make a big difference this summer with our outside playtime! (And soon enough Luke will enjoy it too!)

Welcome Home Luke!

Today we brought home our son -it is so nice to have our family of four all under the same roof! I don't remember much about when we brought Hannah home, but with Luke, it just seemed as though we had gone away for a weekend and then returned home to our normal routine. I suppose that is just the way it is with a second child - must keep up with the first one! Settling into life with a newborn takes some time, but I am happy to say that Mike, Hannah & I have all adjusted pretty well! A little sleep deprived of course, but have the confidence that only experienced parents do to make it work! Hannah is a rock star - not only does she love her baby brother but is doing well sharing her mom & dad with a new sibling.





Having my mom around has helped tremendously - all of us have benefited from her stay! My dad arrived about a week and a half after Luke was born...and was so excited to finally meet him! I love having my parents with me - and know all too well how quickly time flies during their visits - so I try to enjoy every moment, every day, and be thankful of the time we do have together. Love that little Luke brought us all together! Welcome home indeed!
