Treeschool's Music and Art Show

"Music gives a soul to the
universe, wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination,
and life to everything."

-Plato

What a sweet little night we spent at the kids' school for their end of the school year music show. Watching precious videos of Luke in his 1's class and live performances by Hannah's PreK class (yes, we bought the DVD of the show!) was bittersweet - how did this year fly by so fast? Our kids LOVE music, love singing, love dancing, love trying to play instruments, it brings them such joy! Love that our school has such a great music teacher and program (Ms. Kim rocks!) Guess it is the first of many school performances, I will try hard to savor them! Artwork by each class was displayed, Hannah was so proud to show us what they had been working on! (Luke had no clue but I loved seeing his tiny little hand-prints everywhere!) We love you so much Hannah & Luke! Thanks Treeschool for an amazing year!

Luke's 2nd Birthday

Today you are you,
That is truer than true.
There is no one alive who
Is youer than you!

-Dr. Seuss

Happy 2nd Birthday Lukey! Wow TWO?! How did that happen? We certainly celebrated in style for Luke's party, (we got ears, it's time for cheers!)appropriately themed Mickey Mouse, who is also referred to as Hot Dog by Luke, due to the ever popular Hot Dog Song and dance that concludes each episode! Friends and family came to help celebrate, and we had a sweet little party at our house. Pizza, cookie cake, and ice cream for all! Our little birthday boy was so happy, he loved playing outside with all the big kids, and I am pretty sure he enjoyed eating too. Luke finally has some official boy toys to play with, thanks to some awesome gifts! Big sis Hannah was a big helper at the party, so excited for her little bro! Thanks to my sis who helped me with the party, and even Olivia helped by wearing her Mickey Mouse finest attire, so cute! Reeves, Towns, Morans and Grandma & Granddad Pillsbury & Katherine, thanks for celebrating with us! Happy happy birthday to our Lukey!

Texas Crawfish Boil

Soooo...on Friday around lunchtime I got a phone call from Mike about our weekend plans, "Want to drive to Proper and surprise RT and our TX friends at their annual crawfish boil?" "Sure!" 2 hrs later, we were all packed up and ready for our 10+ hour drive to Texas! Whew! Kids were rock-stars and (thanks to my amazing packing skills and organization, yeah me!), we had all we needed to make it to our 3am arrival. (Thanks again to Kat & Chief for hosting us with such a crazy arrival time!) The surprise was awesome, and we had the best day playing, eating, and C-H-I-L-L-I-N with good friends. Luke has never seen crawfish before and was AMAZED! So fun to see old friends and reminisce, while making new memories with our families!

Due to a crazy short but intense storm at the end of the night, the yard was a bit soggy the next morning when I thought I would go out and treat everyone to donuts and Rudy's breakfast tacos...well I got stuck! Big trucks and chains helped us out and we eventually did get to enjoy those treats, thank goodness! RT and Lyric, Cole and Campbell - we love y'all, thanks again for hosting us, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Our trip continued, and we headed to Dallas for a short but oh so sweet visit with Chris's new baby boys at the NICU. Bo and Joe, we love you so much and are praying for you to get home soon! Off to Ft. Worth next, we crashed the Fulton house, enjoyed good beer (thanks Jamie!), scrumptious food (Kelly made amazing shrimp etouffee), and great company (how do we have FIVE children between us?! #outnumbered!). We also got to enjoy lunch at the Rodeo Goat, and a night at Uncle Julios, who doesn't love watching the tortilla machine?! Loved watching the littles together, Willie J and Lukey (future college roomies) were buds by the end of the weekend. Thank you Fulton's for hosting us on such short notice! We miss you and hope to visit again soon!
