Luke's 1st Easter

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me shall live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."
John 11:25-26

We are so blessed! Thankful for such a wonderful trip celebrating with family - so happy to be home!

Luke's 1st Birthday Party

"Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Lukey,
Happy 1st Birthday to you!"

So happy to celebrate Luke's first birthday on a beautiful Texas afternoon with family & friends! Mike did an amazing job smoking a delicious pork butt & we all enjoyed homemade cupcakes & banana pudding for dessert. Hannah, Luke & Jason all enjoyed some Easter fun searching for hidden eggs on an Easter egg hunt and smashing cascarones! Samson, Aunt Carla & Uncle Joey's new puppy, joined in on some of the birthday fun but mostly took naps in the monkey grass! (His poor little eye had a stitch due to a run in with a cactus, but he was a good sport with his cone!) Fun had by all - especially the birthday boy - he plays hard and wears himself out trying to keep up with the big kids! Much love to my parents, aunts & uncles, cousins, and all who helped us celebrate Luke's 1st Birthday in Texas!

Luke's First Steps

While we were down in Fort Worth...Luke may have taken one or two wobbly steps BUT when we arrived at my parents house for our Easter trip he was definitely sure of himself and took lots of steps! Then pretty much he was off and fast too! Luke is hilarious to watch while he walks, quite the wiggle in his step and he prefers to walk holding toys - preferably balls - in each of his hands! He already loves to be chased and will chase you too! Not near as graceful as his sister, Luke falls and crashes all day long, we think he is just in a hurry to keep up with her but doesn't have the balance and coordination quite yet! SO PROUD OF OUR LITTLE WALKER! Love you Luke!

Mayhem strikes again...

It always starts out innocently enough...

But give Lukey five minutes and you end up with this mess?! What a little rascal!

In a completely opposite scenario...here is Hannah tucking in her babies! This little apple didn't fall far from the tree!

DFW Trip

For an extremely last minute trip...we tried our very best to cram our weekend full of friends & fun (oh, and Mike went to the Final 4 games to cheer for KY)! We opted to drive the 10+ hours from our house, why not we said? we drive a lot of places? Hannah is an excellent and seasoned traveler...but Luke is still in training, yet surprisingly he did an amazing job for a little guy! After Mike confirmed his Final Four tickets (if he did posts this one would be a Final 4 post...but luckily I post and can fill it with pics of our fab TX friends instead) we were off! Speaking of friends, the Muirs, graciously accommodated us on very short notice AND coincidentally were also hosting a crawfish boil on Saturday afternoon! Had so much fun seeing familiar faces & meeting new little ones - what a great party! Thanks also to the Wrights for organzing a yummy Mexican food dinner Friday, and thanks to the Weems family for making the trip, Hannah and Quinn were fast friends, adorable! Loved seeing the Hill family & growing Mathew family too! Gosh I miss TX so much and I love that visiting makes my kids as happy as me too!

How cute are these kiddos?! Moeller, thanks for meeting us Saturday morning - LOVED getting to visit and see the kids!

Off to Fort Worth for the rest of the weekend...so excited to meet baby Will! And of course excited to be with all the Fulton boys & Kelly too! Amazing how grown up the kids are - we ate and drank well (thanks to Jamie for sharing his delicious & award winning beer) and were very thankful for our last minute weekend with friends! As for the road trip home...one flat tire, one new tire, construction traffic, AND many many many hours later we arrived home exhausted!! Phew! What a weekend!
