Soooo...on Friday around lunchtime I got a phone call from Mike about our weekend plans, "Want to drive to Proper and surprise RT and our TX friends at their annual crawfish boil?" "Sure!" 2 hrs later, we were all packed up and ready for our 10+ hour drive to Texas! Whew! Kids were rock-stars and (thanks to my amazing packing skills and organization, yeah me!), we had all we needed to make it to our 3am arrival. (Thanks again to Kat & Chief for hosting us with such a crazy arrival time!) The surprise was awesome, and we had the best day playing, eating, and C-H-I-L-L-I-N with good friends. Luke has never seen crawfish before and was AMAZED! So fun to see old friends and reminisce, while making new memories with our families!
Due to a crazy short but intense storm at the end of the night, the yard was a bit soggy the next morning when I thought I would go out and treat everyone to donuts and Rudy's breakfast tacos...well I got stuck! Big trucks and chains helped us out and we eventually did get to enjoy those treats, thank goodness! RT and Lyric, Cole and Campbell - we love y'all, thanks again for hosting us, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Our trip continued, and we headed to Dallas for a short but oh so sweet visit with Chris's new baby boys at the NICU. Bo and Joe, we love you so much and are praying for you to get home soon! Off to Ft. Worth next, we crashed the Fulton house, enjoyed good beer (thanks Jamie!), scrumptious food (Kelly made amazing shrimp etouffee), and great company (how do we have FIVE children between us?! #outnumbered!). We also got to enjoy lunch at the Rodeo Goat, and a night at Uncle Julios, who doesn't love watching the tortilla machine?! Loved watching the littles together, Willie J and Lukey (future college roomies) were buds by the end of the weekend. Thank you Fulton's for hosting us on such short notice! We miss you and hope to visit again soon!
